On Friday, 09/17/2021, the FHPD responded to numerous calls for thefts of catalytic converters stolen off of vehicles overnight.  The FHPD was aware that the Swansea Police Department had arrested a subject that was in possession of a number of catalytic converters that had been cut off of vehicles. 

The Swansea and Fairview Heights Police Department coordinated to match the catalytic converters that Swansea had recovered to the victim vehicles in Fairview Heights. 

On Saturday, 09/18/2021, the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office charged Akeem A Moore, a 26 year old male from Highland Park, Michigan with the following offenses:   

– Unlawful Possession of Essential Motor Vehicle Parts

– Unlawful Possession of Essential Motor Vehicle Parts

– Unlawful Possession of Essential Motor Vehicle Parts

– Know Damage Property >$300-10K

– Know Damage Property >$300-10K

– Know Damage Property >$300-10K

 The honorable Judge Patricia Kievlan set Moore’s bond at $30,000.00. 

 *All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. 

Fairview Heights Police Department
