On Monday, November 18, 2019 in the early evening, the Fairview Heights Police Department was contacted in reference to a Robbery that had just occurred on the parking lot of a business. The victim reported that he had been robbed while meeting a man to buy a video game system during a sale that had been arranged on an online application.
The victim was able to provide the FHPD with accurate details of the suspect and the vehicle the suspect used to flee.
This information was relayed to surrounding Police Departments and with the assistance of the Belleville Police Department the suspect was quickly arrested after a traffic stop.
On Wednesday, November 20, 2019 the St. Clair County States Attorney’s Office charged:

Brandon E Curren of the 2700 block of Cascade Lake Dr, Shiloh, IL

Curren was charged with the following offenses:
Robbery, Aggravated Battery, Burglary, and Criminal Damage to Property.

Curren’s bond was set at $75,000.00 and he is currently in custody at the St. Clair County Jail.
The Fairview Heights Police Department would like to remind the community to use precautions when meeting people to conduct business transactions that have been arranged online. The FHPD allows for “Safe Exchanges” to be conducted on the front parking lot of the police department.

All suspects are presumed innocent.
