During the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement period the Fairview Heights Police Department placed additional officers on the road to assist with DUI and seat belt enforcement. During the period, the additional enforcement resulted in the issuance of 22 traffic related citation, to include the arrest of one motorist for DUI.
The Fairview Heights Police Department joined forces with state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners for the St. Patrick’s Day campaign.
The law enforcement effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
