During the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement period the Fairview Heights Police Department placed additional officers on the road to assist with DUI and seat belt enforcement. During the period, the additional enforcement resulted in 24 contacts with motorists and the issuance of 25 traffic related citations. Our agency was happy to find that none of the motorists we encountered were found to be impaired.
The Fairview Heights Police Department joined forces with state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners for the St. Patrick’s Day campaign.
The law enforcement effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
